I wanted to make new jewelry to wear to the dinner. I wanted something light with a little bit of sparkle using supplies that I already owned. Pearls seemed to be the way to go. I took apart a three strand necklace that was at least 15-20 years old. I haven't worn this necklace in ages. I couldn't find a design that I liked that wasn't too complex or too dressy. I decided to make a simple necklace. I threaded the pearls on beading wire and added some rondelles from the stash. I used memory wire for the earrings and made an extra pair of simple pearl drop earrings.
I decided that I need to add new bracelets to my jewelry collection. Stringing beads and making jewelry is soothing unless you are bouncing beads across the room. I used memory wire for the multi-colored bracelet and the pearls. I used clear stretch cord for the silver beads. The oval bracelets are made with pre-formed bracelets pieces.
I still have some pearls that I want to use up. I found another idea for a necklace that is calling my name. I'll search out some projects to work on over the next few weeks. My sewing plans for this week are to fix the peplum top and finish a couple of garments that need hems.
